Scott O’Melia joined Driven Brands in May of 2020, as Executive Vice President, General Counsel. O’Melia oversees all aspects of the legal function for the company. Prior to joining the Driven Brands, O’Melia was General Counsel and Vice President of Corporate Development for Caraustar Industries. There he led the legal, corporate development, risk, safety, environmental, and real estate functions.
From 2009 to 2012, O’Melia was Vice President, Corporate Counsel at Wendy’s/Arby’s Group, where he was primarily responsible for all mergers and acquisitions, international franchising, and other transactions. From 2005 to 2009, O’Melia was a partner at Alston & Bird, where he focused on mergers and acquisitions and other transactions, securities, private equity, and general corporate matters. He is a ’96 graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law and a ’91 graduate of Ohio University.
